Racers Edge Motorsports has announced a new long-term partnership with Aston Martin Racing, beginning in 2025 with the upcoming Fanatec GT World Challenge America season.
The team will continue its focus on SRO competition, fielding a new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (Evo) in GT World Challenge America, while the new alliance with Aston Martin also opens doors to an expansion into GT4 competition.
“Aston Martin Racing checked all the boxes for us, both in a new partner and with the right car to put on track that would immediately be competitive. We investigated our various options and spoke with multiple manufacturers, and Aston Martin Racing quickly rose to the top of our list. Once we looked at all the options, the decision was actually easy to make,” said Racers Edge Motorsports team owner Jon Mirachi.
“With the end of the Acura NSX GT3 programme support, and no GT3 successor in development, we felt the time was right for a new challenge. We had six successful years with Honda Racing Corporation and Acura Motorsports, collecting 24 race wins, 53 total podium finishes, and three championships—more than any other NSX GT3 team in the world. We are really proud of those accomplishments, but along with that success we developed some great friendships that we’ll miss, so the change is bittersweet.”
Racers Edge’s final season with the NSX GT3 concluded with Zach Veach and Luca Mars finishing third in the GT World Challenge America Pro standings, with nine class podiums and a best overall finish of second place.
“At the same time, we’re excited about the future and creating that same success with the folks at Aston Martin Racing,” Mirachi added.
In its first year of worldwide competition, the new-for-2024 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 collected its first win in the SUPER GT Series, then scored an overall victory in the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa, an LMGT3 class win in the WEC Lone Star Le Mans at COTA, and two class victories in the IMSA SportsCar Championship.
The Vantage GT3 briefly ran in GT World Challenge America last season before Flying Lizard Motorsports changed to BMW mid-way through the 2024 season.
Drivers for Racers Edge Motorsports’ 2025 programme will be announced later, as the team is currently soliciting offers from interested drivers or sponsors.
Racers Edge Motorsports is the latest in a handful of teams that have already declared their entry into the 2025 Fanatec GT World Challenge America.
Defending Pro-Am class champions Turner Motorsport have announced that they will return with Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley at the wheel of their BMW M4 GT3.
Flying Lizard Motorsports, Random Vandals Racing, Chouest Povoledo Racing, and Regulator Racing have also declared their intentions to return to the series, while Canadian team JMF Motorsports has announced that it will expand to GT World Challenge America after years of success in GT4 America.
More entries will be confirmed over the coming weeks.
