Wright Motorsports has confirmed that Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer will return to lead a full-season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship entry, driving the #120 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD class.
What began as a part-time run in 2024 for the two Pirelli GT4 America alumni expanded to cover all but one IMSA round by the end of the season. Adelson and Skeer scored their first GTD podium at the Sebring 12 Hours, then followed it up with another podium at Laguna Seca – before taking their first win in the wet at the Indianapolis Battle on the Bricks enduro. Together, they finished 11th in the GTD Drivers’ Championship and eighth in the Teams’ Championship.
Adelson and Skeer also took the GT World Challenge America Pro Championship in 2024, fending off strong competition from DXDT Racing’s new Corvette Z06 GT3.R to do so – and following up on a successful debut season of GT3 racing for the duo in 2023.
Wright Motorsports and their two lead drivers also got significant attention during last year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, thanks to a tie-in with the new Apple Studios film F1 which will premiere in theatres next June. Portions of the movie were filmed during the Daytona 24 Hours weekend with Wright Motorsports supplying the car that will be driven by Brad Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes.
“It’s a pleasure to have Adam and Elliott back for another season,” said Team Owner John Wright. “Their growth during their first IMSA WeatherTech season was remarkable, and they brought a great deal of energy to the team. Their victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway proved they have what it takes to excel in this highly competitive class, and we’re excited to build on that success in 2025.”
Wright Motorsports has also brought in fellow GT World Challenge America competitor Tom Sargent to accompany the team for the Michelin Endurance Cup events. The young Australian driver was the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup North America runner-up, and scored his first GT World Challenge America victory in the Pro-Am class at VIR.
Rounding out the roster for the 63rd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona is Ayhancan Güven of Türkiye, the 26-year-old Porsche contracted driver who has won championships in the French and Benelux Porsche Carrera Cup regional series, and the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 category. Güven is the defending champion of the Bathurst 12 Hour race, finished second in last year’s Nürburgring 24-Hour Race, and finished second in the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge Drivers’ Championship.
“Coming into Daytona this year for the second time is a totally different feeling,” remarked Adelson. “Last year, we had no idea what to expect during the IMSA season, but we quickly found that the preparation we did was paying off. This year we actually know what to expect and can rely on that experience to try and bring home even better results. Aside from that, I’m beyond excited to be racing with Tom and Ayhancan, who are both exceptional talents. We may have one of the youngest driver lineups in the field, but with that comes plenty of motivation and hunger for success on track.”

I’m equally excited to welcome Tom to the team and help him get up to speed in IMSA. Ayhancan is a fantastic pick for the lineup, and his experience in the car will be a huge asset for Daytona. Together, we’re poised for an amazing year, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish!”
“To say I am excited to be driving in the #120 Wright Motorsports Porsche in the IMSA WeatherTech series is an understatement,” said Sargent, who will make his IMSA WeatherTech and Rolex 24 at Daytona debut next month. “Making my IMSA debut, and with such a well-established and successful team, is my dream start to this championship. To be able to partner with Adam and Elliot for the endurance rounds, and for them to put their confidence in me to do my side of the job is extremely encouraging for the work I have put in to get here.”
