NASCAR and Amazon Prime Video have released the trailer for their documentary American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans, which will be released on Prime Video on 12 June in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The documentary is an in-depth look behind the scenes of the NASCAR Garage 56 project that competed in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 18-month journey undertaken by Hendrick Motorsports to develop a race car designed to run 500 miles on ovals in the United States into one that could survive a 24-hour endurance race on the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe.
NASCAR Chairman & CEO Jim France, Hendrick Motorsports founder Rick Hendrick and Vice President of Competition Chad Knaus, drivers Jenson Button, Jimmie Johnson, and Mike Rockenfeller, and NBC Sports commentator Nate Ryan are among the prominent names, faces and voices featured in the trailer.
American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans is produced by NASCAR Studios and Griffin Van Malssen, directed by Brad Lockhart, and executive produced by Hendrick Motorsports’ Jeff Gordon plus Tim Clark, John Dahl, Amy Anderson, Tally Hair, and Matt Summers from NASCAR.
