Toyo Tires will participate in the top SP9 category at the 24H Nürburgring for the first time later this year, with racing partner Ring Racing.
The Japanese brand will field a single Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, with the car competing under the ‘Toyo Tires with Ring Racing’ banner in the ADAC 24H Nürburgring and Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie.
Super GT GT500 race winner Yuichi Nakayama is the first driver confirmed for the effort, with the 34-year-old also named a Toyo Tires brand ambassador at last weekend’s Tokyo Auto Salon.
Toyota driver Nakayama raced a Toyo Tires with Ring Racing GR Supra GT4 Evo2 at last year’s 24H Nürburgring, and was also part of the Ring Racing-run ‘Nordique Racing’ Mercedes-AMG squad in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
Toyo Tires has been ever-present at the 24H Nürburgring in partnership with Ring Racing since 2020, mainly fielding GT4-spec Toyota machinery. The GT4 programme, which has been partnered with the Toyota Gazoo Racing Driver Challenge development scheme since last year, is set to return in 2026, with Giuliano Alesi, Miki Koyama, Kazuto Kotaka and Shunji Okumoto all announced so far.
The 2026 24H Nürburgring will be held from 14th to 17th May 2026.
