Porsche factory driver Laurin Heinrich will make his European Le Mans Series debut this season with High Class Racing.
Heinrich will be joined in the #54 Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 (992.2) by team regulars Dennis Andersen and Anders Fjordbach, as the Danish outfit returns to the ELMS after five seasons away.
The 24-year-old is currently in his first season as a Porsche works driver, and has made a strong start in his new role with outright victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. Before making the step up to the 963 programme, the German spent three seasons racing Porsche’s GT3 machinery as a contracted driver, during which time he won the 2024 IMSA GTD Pro drivers’ title.
“I am extremely excited to debut in ELMS together with High Class Racing,” Heinrich said. “Together with Dennis and Anders, we will form a strong lineup, and I hope to contribute to the team with my extensive GT racing experience. Even though it is my very first ELMS season, I expect to fight at the front, and we will work hard to achieve strong results.”
High Class previously raced in the ELMS from 2017 to 2020, with Andersen and Fjordbach competing first in a Dallara P217, and then in an ORECA 07. Across their four seasons, the pair scored multiple podium finishes, including in their first two outings at Silverstone and Monza in 2017.
In recent years, High Class has diversified its international programme by adding GT racing alongside its prototype efforts. Alongside the ELMS, the team will also run a Porsche in the Intercontinental GT Challenge this season, where it has had a successful start with a second-place finish at the Bathurst 12 Hour. In the long term, the move to LMGT3 has been made with the stated aim of returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Fjordbach commented: “ELMS feels like a natural home for High Class Racing. The series is professional, intense and competitively demanding – exactly the environment we want to be in. I look forward to sharing the car with Dennis again, and having Laurin onboard is a tremendous boost. We return with ambition, experience and a highly motivated group of people.”
Andersen added: “It means a lot to me to come back to the European Le Mans Series – and to do so together with High Class Racing. The series is stronger than ever, and we are coming with a very competitive setup. I am incredibly excited to get started.”
The 2026 European Le Mans Series begins at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain on 10th to 12th April 2026. The Spanish venue will also host the Prologue test on 6th to 7th April 2026.
