The #50 Richard Mille Racing ORECA has another new-look line-up in the wake of the continuing recovery from injuries suffered at round 1 by Katherine Legge.
The effort will see Paul Ricard pairing Tatania Calderon and Andre Negrao continue, to be joined by 2019 W-Series runner-up, 25 year old Dutch racer Beitske Visser with Sophia Floersch again having a clashing race weekend with the FIA F3 Championship.
Visser is a regular GT racer as part of her duties as a BMW Junior racer, with experience in GT3 and GT4 machinery, she tested the ORECA here earlier this week and found it “a great car, big power and downforce, the extra weight (from the W-Series car) not an issue as I am used to that with my GT racing.”
Testing earlier in the week saw some dramas for a couple of runners, the RealTeam Racing LMP3 Ligier made it back to the track by the end of the day but there was substantially more trouble for the #54 AF Corse Ferrari, the WEC full season car had a significant off at the Esses with Thomas Flöhr at the wheel, the driver emerging unhurt. The same though could not be said for the Ferrari, the impact badly damaging a rear corner, beyond repair here this weekend. A replacement Ferrari 488 GTE has been sourced and was being built up this morning (pictured below foreground).
Andreas Laskaratos is an addition to the #11 EuroInternational LMP3 Liger line-up, the Greek driver joins Thomas Erdos and Niko Kari bringing backing from the Greek National Tourist Board along with him.
As previously reported American racer Robert Megennis joins the #15 RLR MSport line-up, the Indy Lights talent has apparently already impressed here in testing, LMP3 is shaping up nicely!
As previously noted on DSC the #66 JMW Ferrari is sporting a new look with some blue additions to its traditionally yellow livery.
All five of the hosting full season FIA WEC cars are present and accounted for (though see the #54 Ferrari note above), the Jota ORECA is being prepped,, adding another significant Goodyear runner to the ELMS field this weekend.
The #98 Aston Martin is back for its second and final planned ELMS outing this year (including the first appearance for the team for Augusto Farfus) and the trio of Ferraris from the AF Corse customer roster are all on-site (#54 AF Corse, #62 Red River Sport (the not very shy and definitely not retiring Johnny Mowlem pictured below!) and renumbered #88 AF Corse (#83 for the WEC).
