Defending Champions 2 Seas Motorsport Name 2 Car Mercedes AMG Line-up

Defending champions 2 Seas Motorsport will look to repeat their success in the Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 8 January 2022, by reuniting the same driver line-up that scored overall race victory in the Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain.

The 2021 title-winning trio of Sheikh Isa Al Khalifa, Martin Kodric and Ben Barnicoat will return in the team’s Pro class entered car, this time though in the team’s newly acquired Mercedes AMG GT3 Evos rather than the McLarens of 2021, the Abu Dhabi race marking the first time the team have campaigned two AMGs after one-off appearances – and wins – in British GT and GT Open in 2021.

The team’s sister car will be driven by an all-British line-up in the Am class. Race-winning F4 and EuroFormula Open talent Casper Stevenson will make his first GT3 start and will be joined by 2021 British GT race winner Morgan Tillbrook and former Blancpain Endurance Series Am champion, and British GT Championship stalwart, Ian Loggie. The Scottish driver competed in the 2021 Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain in a RAM Racing-run Mercedes AMG GT3.

Team co-owner Sheikh Isa Al Khalifa, said: “The 2021 Gulf 12 Hours was a hugely proud moment for me personally, both as a driver and a team owner, winning on home soil in Bahrain. I am extremely pleased that we can return to defend the title, with the added challenge of being back at Yas Marina, and I am really looking forward to being back racing with Ben and Martin.

“Hopefully we can keep the momentum going into the new season and start the year on another strong footing. It is also great to be challenging for the Am honours, and the line-up is a fantastic mix of youth and experience with Casper, Morgan and Ian. I am feeling confident that we have a real chance of a strong result, and they will certainly be a force to be reckoned with.”
