Ford has unveiled its new-for-2024 Musang GT4 at Spa-Francorchamps today, adding to the Mustang’s new motorsport presence which includes a brand new GT3-spec model that was revealed ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours earlier this month.
Like its GT3 counterpart (pictured below), the Mustang GT4 is based on the all-new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse and has been launched in a new livery designed by Troy Lee.
“The Mustang GT4 is a key member of our motorsports lineup,” said Ford Performance Motorsports’ global director Mark Rushbrook.
“Its placement between the Mustang GT3 and soon-to-be-unveiled (track-focused) Mustang Dark Horse R keeps the brand in competition at all levels of on-track performance and is an important part of our customer racing programme.
“With this new version, based on the seventh generation’s new Dark Horse model, we’ve upped the game and are ready to challenge an entire world of competitors.”
Multimatic will build the Mustang GT4 as part of an expanded partnership with Ford. Ford Performance meanwhile, has designed the Coyote-based V8 engine in-house. All engines will be assembled in Dearborn, Michigan.

The Mustang GT4 race car also features Multimatic DSSV dampers, a Holinger dog-ring gearbox, paddle shifters with pneumatic actuation, natural fibre body panels and a unique aero package developed to meet GT4 category targets.
