British GT GT4 class race winners and 2024 title contenders Forsetti Motorsport has announced a new ownership structure headed by Roger Bennington, MD of Stratton Motor Company.
After a strong debut year, highlighted with clinching first the inaugural GT4 Winter Series Team Championship and then the British GT Teams Championship at its first attempt, the team has now set out to compete in additional overseas events alongside its current UK based activities and will be targeting European Championship expansion in 2025.
Joe Holloway commented: “Firstly I would like to thank all founding members of the team, technical and commercial partners and supporters who have been on such a fantastic and memorable journey with me this year. Their contributions and achievements have given Forsetti a strong foothold in the GT racing scene.
“It has become clear that the ambition and trajectory of the team required additional support for us to be able to maintain sustainable expansion.
“Roger provides an immeasurable amount of Aston Martin history, knowledge and passion. Additionally, ownership of race cars to diversify the portfolio and the equipment to allow us to run multiple racing programmes across the UK and Europe.
“This draw, whilst benefiting from maintain the teams local Norfolk and Snetterton race circuit roots is an exciting proposition.
The direction remains clear for all at Forsetti with the same dedication and aim of delivering customer satisfaction alongside fast and reliable race cars.
“An expansion into Europe and the GT3 category is a clear and logical next step, but we are now able to benefit from the ability to provide additional support and services to a much wider range of race cars and drivers as well as current and future Aston Martin road car owners.”
Roger Bennington added: “Having known Joe for the best part of 20 years and having worked closely with him on a number of different projects throughout that time, I am delighted to announce that, with immediate effect Joe will be appointed as Managing Director and Race Director of both teams and will be able to drive forward our ambitions to expand both businesses.
“With a broader range of race cars available to him he will be able to support drivers wishing to compete in a much wider range of race events throughout the UK, such as the increasingly popular heritage racing series, as well as the European Championships he is keen to target. The additional infrastructure Stratton Motorsport can provide by way of transport vehicles and maintenance facilities will enable the team to simultaneously compete in multiple events.
