Corvette Z06 GT3.R Confirmed For Bathurst 12 Hour Debut

The Corvette Z06 GT3.R will make its Bathurst 12 Hour debut in 2026, General Motors Australia and New Zealand announced this morning.

Details about the effort are currently scarce, with no team, driver or class named.

It will be the first time that the Z06 GT3.R, which made its racing debut at the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona, competes in Oceania, and General Motors’ first 12 Hour entry in the race’s GT3 era.

The Bathurst 12 Hour is the fourth different Intercontinental GT Challenge event that Corvette’s latest GT3 challenger will participate in, following starts in the Indianapolis 8 Hour, 24 Hours of Spa and Suzuka 1000km.

“Bathurst is one of the most prestigious GT races in the world and it means a tremendous amount to me personally to be able to bring the programme here,” said Jessica Dane, Corvette Racing program manager.

“The GT3 platform allows us to compete in global regions that we never have before, and I’m so excited to bring the Z06 GT3.R to our Australian and New Zealand fans for the first time at one of my all-time favourite events.”

Bathurst 12 Hour Event Director Shane Rudzis added: “The Meguair’s Bathurst 12 Hour welcomes the addition of the Corvette GT3.R, this is something the fans have been eagerly wanting to see for a long time. To have the Corvette competing against the European manufacturers is going to make for a highly anticipated matchup come February”.

The 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour, the opening round of next year’s Intercontinental GT Challenge, will take place from 13th to 15th February 2026.
