Haupt Racing Team has unveiled a new partnership with the German armed forces, the Bundeswher, which will see one of its Ford Mustang GT3 Evos run in a camouflage livery at this year’s ADAC 24H Nürburgring.
The #63 Mustang GT3 Evo will also compete in preparatory rounds of the Nürburgring-Langstrecken Serie, and joins the Yokohama-backed #65 Ford in HRT’s line-up for this year’s 24-hour race, which will take place on the 14th to 17th May 2026. No drivers have been announced so far for either car.
“The collaboration with the Bundeswehr is a great honour for HRT,” Ulrich Fritz, CEO Haupt Racing Team, commented.
“Motorsport and the military have a lot in common. Both fields depend on commitment, team spirit, and technology. This is especially true for the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, where people and equipment are pushed to their limits. We are delighted to be tackling this challenge together and raising the profile of the Bundeswehr as a modern, attractive employer.”
HRT has also confirmed that Niklas Kalus will return to its ADAC GT Masters programme this season. The 20-year-old scored multiple podium finishes, as well as a pole position at the Lausitzring, alongside Max Reis last year.
The German is also scheduled to contest select NLS events in the second half of the season.
“I am delighted to be racing for HRT again in the coming season,” Kalus said. “The trust placed in me for another year means a lot to me and gives me extra motivation.
“In addition to my return to the ADAC GT Masters, the Nürburgring Nordschleife is a very special new challenge that I am extremely excited about. I am highly motivated to continue developing and am looking forward to an exciting, instructive, and hopefully successful racing year.”
Kalus joins the previously announced Kiana Blum, Max Cuccarese, Emil Gjerdrum and Alain Valente in the German squad’s ADAC GT Masters roster, with the team’s sixth driver and driver combinations yet to be confirmed.
