Nielsen Racing has signed Ron Hartvelt as its new team principal, ahead of the 2026 season.
Hartvelt, who holds an engineering background, joins the British outfit having contributed to 15 FIA World Championship titles, following time spent with RML and Red Bull Racing.
As team principal, Hartvelt will oversee Nielsen Racing’s operational and technical direction, as part of the team’s management group.
“I’m delighted to be joining Nielsen Racing at such an exciting time for the team,” Hartvelt said.
“From my first experience with the group, it was clear there is a strong foundation in place, with talented people and a great team culture already driving performance. There is huge potential here, and I’m looking forward to building on that as we push to establish ourselves consistently at the front and achieve our long-term ambitions together.”
Nielsen Racing enters 2026 aiming to build on its strongest LMP2 campaign to date last year, when it scored multiple outright ELMS podium finishes and finished fifth in the LMP2 teams’ championship. Meanwhile, it’s Le Mans Cup LMP3 effort has switched from ADESS to Duqueine machinery for this season.
The 2026 European Le Mans Series begins at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain on 10th to 12th April 2026.
