BMW Tweaks Pro Line-Up For Portimão Finale

BMW M Motorsport’s fleet of Pro class BMW M4 GT3 Evos will undergo a change of driver line-up for the final round of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup at Portimão.

Augusto Farfus, Raffaele Marciello and Dan Harper will all prioritise the clashing FIA World Endurance Championship event, the inaugural 6 Hours of Barcelona, and will therefore skip Portimão, despite the Portuguese event being moved to Saturday evening to make pulling double-duty theoretically possible. None of the trio remain in mathematical contention for any GT World Challenge Europe Drivers’ Championships.

Farfus and Marciello will be replaced in the #98 ROWE Racing BMW by Philipp Eng and Marco Wittmann, who will compete alongside Jake Dennis as the German squad seeks to avoid its first winless season since 2022.

Neil Verhagen, meanwhile, will replace Harper in the #46 Team WRT BMW the Northern Irishman regularly shares with Max Hesse and Valentino Rossi.

Eng, Wittmann and Verhagen all made their most recent GT World Challenge Europe starts at the 2025 24 Hours of Spa, in one-off outings for ROWE Racing, Team WRT and AlManar Racing by WRT respectively.

The 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup will conclude with a three-hour race at Portimão on 16th to 17th October 2026.
