Andersen & Fjordbach Return To ELMS In 2020

High Class Racing makes Michelin switch

High Class Racing has revealed that its long-standing driver pairing of Dennis Andersen and Anders Fjordbach will return to the ELMS in 2020 to race its ORECA 07 Gibson.

The 2020 ELMS season will be both the team, and its Danish driver pairing’s fourth season of racing in LMP2.

There is one key change to the team’s programme for 2020, as it has opted to switch tyre supplier, and will compete with Michelin for the first time after racing in the ELMS with Dunlop the past three seasons. This follows the team’s decision to change from Goodyear to Michelin for the second half of the current FIA WEC season.

The last time the team was testing in public, at the Bahrain Rookie Test, it was lapping on Michelin tyres.

“We are delighted to announce a return to the European Le Mans Series for a fourth year in 2020,” Per Mikkelsen, High Class Racing’s team owner said.

“Everyone is extremely pleased that Dennis Andersen will continue to compete with us in 2020. He has become one of the most consistent Bronze drivers in the series since his first season of LMP2 racing with us back in 2017 and we look forward to seeing what he can achieve partnered up with Anders this year.

“We believe that the ORECA 07 on Michelin tyres is the best combination for us as a team going forward, and gives us a chance to score strong results during the season up against what promises to be another huge world-class prototype field. We would like to thank Dunlop/Goodyear for its support in recent seasons, we look forward to working with it at some point in the future.”

At present, it is not clear whether or not Dennis Andersen would compete at Le Mans in June as an addition to this ELMS programme with High Class. Jan Magnussen is the team’s only named driver for Le Mans in its ELMS ORECA, should the team receive a second entry via the invitation process.

The 2020 ELMS season begins at the track which High Class Racing is based at, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, beginning with the pre-season test on March 31st before the opening round of the season at the same circuit the following weekend.
