The proposed calendar for the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship was approved by the FIA World Motorsport Council this week. A 9 race 2016 season is therefore now confirmed.
There is one minor change to the provisional calendar as the Mexico City race moves to a Saturday on 4 September
Whilst the decision by Porsche to field only two cars at Le Mans took out the opportunity for Nico Hulkenberg to return to attempt to retain his title it is still worth reporting that the provisional date for the planned Formula One Grand Prix in Baku still sits on the FIA calendar:
