Would You Adam and Eve It!?
Jonny Adam was set to perform the tricky three way split with drives this coming weekend for Aston Martin racing in the ELMS and FIA WEC and in British GT for TF Sport.
After hearing first that the ELMS outing had fallen victim to the calendar congestion we heard last night that his WEC drive at Silverstone was also being sacrificed to the commitment made in the British Championship where he is reigning Champion. Andrew Howard though will race at both Brands Hatch and Silverstone we believe.
Adam’s ELMS seat is filled by Darren Turner whilst the WEC car will remain with a two man crew.
Bjorn Again
It’s been all quiet on the Bjorn Wirdheim front since the Swede helped Greaves Motorsport to the 2015 ELMS title but his name has shown up for the weekend’s ELMS race against the #40 Krohn Racing Ligier Nissan alongside Tracy Krohn and Nic Jonsson, a welcome return, albeit we believe, for a one off run with news still to come over who we’ll see in the car for the remainder of the season and at Le Mans.
Olivier Pla may be in the mix for a partial ELMS season with the team but Le Mans sees the Frenchman busy with his commitments as a factory Ford GT driver.
Jamie Chadwick, Beginning and End
We already know that 2015 GT4 Champion, 17 year old Jamie Chadwick will be joining Paul Hollywood in a second Beechdean Aston GT4 for the final three races of the season but now she’s confirmed as starting the season with a further pair of races for Generation AMR SuperRacing where she’ll line up alongside newcomer Matt George in the team’s Vantage GT4 subbing for the team’s second full season driver, SuperDry Executive James Holder who has business commitments that classh with the first two rounds of the season.
The DSC Ed spotted Jamie when she tested for the team last week at Silverstone (above):
“It’s certainly turning into a busier year than I expected”, said Jamie. “This year I’ve got my A-Levels, so I had planned to limit my racing over the first half of the season, prior to linking up with Paul Hollywood and the Beechdean Aston Martin Team for the final three rounds of British GT. However, when the opportunity arose to join the guys at SuperRacing, for the first two rounds, I couldn’t really refuse.” James Appleby, Team Principal of Generation AMR SuperRacing said,”It’s great to have Jamie playing the role of super sub for James at the first two rounds of British GT’s this season. She knows the car well and has a great can do attitude that has worked really well with us all so far. I am excited to see how Matthew and Jamie get on as a pairing”
