43 Cars On 4H Monza Entry

Bruni and Lieb join the GTE class

The provisional entry list for the European Le Mans Series’s 4 Hours of Monza has been revealed. The race is scheduled to be held on May 13. A mouthwatering grid of 43 cars are expected to participate.

In the LMP2 category, 18 cars set to make the trip, the only car missing from the opener at Le Castellet being the WEC-bound Signatech Alpine A470 which ran at Spa last weekend.

Two driver line-ups will be changing. Filipe Albuquerque will be returning in the #22 United Autosport Ligier JS P217 and subbing for Bruno Senna. In the #47 Cetilar Villorba Corse Dallara P217, F1 driver Felipe Nasr will replace Andre Belicchi who has stepped back from his programme due to back issues.

In the LMP3 category, the grid will be expanding to 19 cars, as Racing For Poland will enter a Ligier JSP3 with Henning Henqvist, Blancpain Endurance Series driver Alex Fontana and Tomasz Blicharski at the wheel. Racing for Poland is a full-season VdeV Series entry.

Elsewhere in the category, there are a few notable driver changes. Mikkel Jensen will be returning in the #9 AT Racing Ligier JSP3 and replacing Yann Clairey, while Mark Kvamme will sub for James Dayson in the #12 Eurointernational Ligier JSP3. Kvamme already competed for Eurointernational last season in the Road To Le Mans round.

And, despite widespread concerns in the paddock being seemingly matched by some of those behind the scenes, the DKR Engineering Norma M30 still appears effectively with a driver line-up outside the regulations, as all three are ‘Silver’ graded.

As for the GTE category, there are two fewer cars than at Le Castellet, with no WEC guest entries in for this round. Two significant driver changes are expected in category though, due to the clash with the Nürburgring 24 Hours. In the #77 Proton Competition Porche 911 RSR, Le Mans winner and World Endurance champion Marc Lieb will be replacing Dennis Olsen, while Porsche works driver Gianmaria Bruni will be subbing for Matteo Cairoli in the #88 sister car.
