Russia’s BR Engineering unveiled a new “sports racing prototype” today in Moscow, the BR03, the car bound for national endurance racing in Russia.
The new car, made in Russia with a 100% Russian design team, was presented by Boris Rotenberg, founder and head of BR Engineering and the SMP Racing development programme for Russian motorsport, Alexei Manzhulo, CEO of BR Engineering, and Mikhail Aleshin, project manager and driver of the SMP Racing programme.
“We are pleased to present our new racing car, the BR03 sports prototype, another development of our company BR Engineering,” said Boris Rotenberg.
“Having created several successful cars that have brilliantly shown themselves in the World Championships and European Endurance Racing Championships, we decided to create a completely Russian racing car for performance in national championships, adapted to Russian conditions.
“One of our further tasks is to create a series of endurance races on the same cars, the SMP Racing monocup. It will be a competition of equal opportunities, where the skills of the pilots will come to the fore, and the regulations of this competition will not depend on the organizers abroad. These will be real fast Russian endurance races! A sort of Russian Le-Mans!”
“One of the key characteristics of the BR03 sports prototype is reliability,” said chief designer Alexei Manzhulo. – It was made taking into account the experience we already have. In addition, the car is maximally adapted for Russian weather conditions and Russian highways. I would also like to note the availability and maintainability of the car. We managed to find a good balance between the value of the car and its qualities. The machine is quite simple and inexpensive to maintain and repair, but at the same time it has excellent technical characteristics, reliability and safety.”
“Our company BR Engineering has done a great job to create a new sports prototype BR03,” said Mikhail Aleshin. “We are confident the BR03 will be the fastest Russian ring car in history. This will certainly be appreciated by both the participants and the audience. This year we plan to take part in at least two races in the existing Russian championships. Pilots of the SMP Racing programme will drive the car. This will continue to collect the data needed to improve the BR03. ”
