Silverstone Auctions is set to auction the Nissan GT-R NISMO R35 GT3 that features in the upcoming movie Gran Turismo at the Silverstone Festival on August 25th.
The car, which features heavily in the PlayStation Productions film that tells the story of Jann Mardenborough’s journey from ‘gamer to racer’, was driven by the former Nissan works driver several times during filming.
Prior to that the car also finished ninth in the Nürburgring 24 hours in 2015. In the race it ran with a black livery in remembrance of the spectator who passed away in a VLN incident before the N24, which involved Mardenborough and another GT-R GT3.
“As announced by Orlando Bloom at the British Grand Prix, Columbia Pictures’ big screen production, ‘Gran Turismo’, will premier globally on August 11th and we are proud to be auctioning one of the film’s Nissan GT-R’s at our Silverstone Festival Sale on Friday 25th August,” said Lionel Abbott, Car Specialist at Silverstone Auctions, who secured the car for sale.
The race-ready car is estimated to fetch between £225,000 – £275,000 at the auction.
