IMSA has released the provisional entry list for next weekend’s StubHub Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. 34 cars will contest the two-hour, 40-minute sprint race which forms the second leg of a back-to-back in the state of California.
It’s also the “throwback weekend” where teams will be encouraged to run classic and retro-inspired liveries to honour the history of North American sports car racing.
11 GTP and 14 GTD teams are rejoined by nine GTD Pro teams, and there are driver changes to note within GTP and GTD.
Cadillac Whelen’s Earl Bamber is back after missing Long Beach due to his WEC commitments in Imola, returning to drive the #31 V-Series.R with Jack Aitken as the Action Express Racing team looks for its sixth straight GTP podium dating back to Indianapolis 2025.
Also back after the WEC/IMSA clash is Heart of Racing Team’s Tom Gamble, who returns to drive the #27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo alongside GTD points leader Eduardo Barrichello.
Two other GTD teams have made driver changes this weekend. With Valentin Hasse-Clot racing in the European Le Mans Series’ 4 Hours of Le Castellet next weekend, Van der Steur Racing has called in Scott Andrews as his replacement in the #19 Aston Martin.
Also making a change is Conquest Racing, who call in Lorenzo Patrese, the team’s Michelin Endurance Cup specialist, to fill in for Manny Franco in the #34 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.
It’s all part of a robust weekend of racing which includes Michelin Pilot Challenge, Mustang Challenge North America, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America as supporting series.
