Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has moved into a 1-2 position at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, after its pair of V-Series.Rs jumped the #8 Toyota in a round of pit stops in the 10th hour.
At the start of the hour, the #12 Cadillac of Will Stevens closed up to the rear of Brendon Hartley’s #8 Toyota after a mistake from Hartley at Mulsanne, with the Briton seemingly quicker as Hartley fought a small flat spot, but unable to make a move for the lead.
This enabled Earl Bamber to catch up in the sister #38 entry, with the top three split by under two seconds until Bamber pitted early in an attempt to undercut the Toyota with 25 minutes remaining of the hour.
This worked, with Hartley, who changed tyres, emerging behind Bamber’s co-driver Jack Aitken after making his own stop one lap later. Stevens, who stayed on the same soft Michelin rubber, comfortably emerged ahead of both after making his own pit stop, and now leads the sister car by 13 seconds, with Hartley a further 1.7 seconds behind.
The #7 Toyota is currently fourth, but soon to pit, with the #20 BMW, #101 Cadillac, #35 Alpine, #83 AF Corse Ferrari, #36 Alpine and #19 Genesis completing the top 10.
The Genesis has run as high as fourth whilst the pit stops cycle through, but has fallen back as the most recent of the top 10 runners to have pitted.
In LMP2, the #43 Inter Europol Competition ORECA of Nico Müller has moved into the lead, after a recent pit stop from Richard Verschoor’s #30 Duqueine Team. The Porsche factory driver is only 3.4 seconds ahead of the Dutchman, with the #9 Proton Competition ORECA only 12 seconds further back in third.
The #4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR ORECA has climbed to the front in LMP2 Pro/Am, with the family-run operation making the most of running one of its professional drivers against its rivals amateurs. Alex Quinn currently leads the #99 AO by TF ORECA of PJ Hyett by over two minutes, although the Briton is due to pit shortly.
The #14 TDS Racing ORECA, which led at the end of Hour 9, has fallen back to third, but Bronze driver Tobias Lutke has now made way for Kévin Estre.
And in LMGT3, the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin has remained in the lead, despite a longer pit stop as Mattia Drudi handed over to Zacharie Robichon.
The Canadian is currently eight seconds ahead of the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari, aboard which Lorenzo Patrese needs to pit shortly, with the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette of Charlie Eastwood, which started at the back of the field, up to third.
LMGT3, with its 17 lead lap runners, currently has the greatest variation of the order through pit strategy go any class, with leading cars regularly falling out of the top 10 upon pitting before working their way back up.
