The FIA WEC is launching a new streaming service, called ‘FIA WEC+’, this year. It is set to replace the current set-up with an improved platform for the 2026 season.
The current WEC streaming service and app, which offers a paid service to watch FIA WEC races live and on-demand, has been a bone of contention amongst fans for a number of years, with frequent complaints aimed primarily at its reliability and user interface.
The FIA WEC has recognised this and, after taking feedback on board, developed a brand-new platform for fans to access WEC broadcasts and premium content that will be “more reliable” and “smoother”.
A launch date hasn’t been confirmed yet, as the new streaming app is still in testing. What we do know at this early stage, though, is that FIA WEC+ will not be geoblocked in North America and that users will be required to create a new login to access FIA WEC+.
Also notable is that news of the brand new streaming platform for the WEC does not affect coverage of the Asian Le Mans Series’ finale this weekend at Yas Marina. Both races, plus qualifying, will be shown, as usual, on the series’ YouTube channel at no cost.
